9 They say there is no place like home, and this native Oklahoma girl agrees! Seven years ago, I followed my dream to be an interior decorator and business owner while living in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I loved the sights and sounds of the Red Stick State, but it just wasn’t HOME! So in 2013, I moved myself and my business to Norman. The thought of starting my business over from scratch was both scary and exciting; but four years later, the business is strong and growing! I have been truly blessed to work with such wonderful clients, and I absolutely love the reaction I get each time one of my beautiful rooms is revealed. With this column, I am excited to share some of the leading design trends in the industry, along with a few of my favorite design projects: 50 shades of gray isn’t limited to books and movies! From furniture to accessories to wall color, gray remains the stylish and sophisticated neutral for home decor. It is a moody color that can be conservative on one hand while elegant and formal on the other. Due to its popularity, we see gray being used in various shades ranging from cool gray to darker warmer shades; it is an easy to incorporate option that consumers love. Don’t look for the market to return to the browns or beiges any time soon. As furniture styles and tastes turn more “transitional”in design, gray will continue to work best. HAPPY GRAY! OH
